Listening online

Please read through the following disclaimer regarding the online listening experience

Add data and audio files

In the sidebar, click to bring up file loading options. Text files and audio files can be loaded.

Controls

Play button

Click this to play through the graph with the associated audio file. If you see a red cross, the audio has not loaded correctly

Press the spacebar on your keyboard to toggle play/pause.

Loop button

Click this to switch between repeating the playback when reaching the end of the graph or only playing once.

Note: this also affects playback behaviour when zoomed in.

Data Graph

The main window is where you can inspect values and interact with the audio position. Hovering over the points to inspect. Click on the graph area to change the current playback position.

Use the step buttons or the back ← and forward → cursor keys on your keyboard to shift the current playback position.

Use the Home and End keys on your keyboard to jump to the start or end of the graph.

Spectrum Graph

The pop-up spectrum window is where you can view any available frequency data for the active point on the Data Graph.

Choose between the various "views" of spectrum both in 2D and 3D using the view options at the top and design options at the bottom of the window.

Resize the window using the bottom right handle.

Press S on your keyboard to toggle the pop-up Spectrum Graph.

Series

The series legend provides a key to all shown and available series.

Choose which series of data to show on the data graph by clicking the label.

Press L on your keyboard to toggle the Series Legend.

Zoom

Click this once to enable editing the zoom area of the graph. Once enabled, click two points on the graph to zoom in between these points

Use the graph preview at the bottom to adjust zoom positioning.

Use the mouse wheel to zoom in on the your mouse pointer.

Use the Page Up and Page Down keys on your keyboard to skip forward and backwards.

Calculate

Calculate an overall Leq level for every shown series.

When first clicking on the button you will be be able to modify the calculated range by clicking two points on the graph.

Labels

The labelling added to the data can be turned on or off. Note: These cannot be edited.

Spectral Mode

Change the Data Graph to show a spectral image using colour to represent decibel level (matching the Spectrum Graph > Colours).

Frequency bands are labelled starting at the bottom and going up vertically.

A-Weight

Click this button to apply A-weighting to all available spectrum data on both the Data and Spectrum graphs.

Press A on your keyboard to toggle A-weighting.

Dark mode

Change the colour scheme between light and dark.

Press D on your keyboard to toggle dark mode.

Full-screen mode

Hides all the buttons and options so that the graph fills the window.

Press F on your keyboard to toggle full-screen mode or ESC to exit.

Audio Level buttons

Use the level buttons to reduce or increase the audio level.

Click on the main button to mute/unmute the audio.

Warning: Levels above 100% may cause audio compression or distortion.

Audio Alignment

The audio can be offset to modify the alignment with the data graph. For example, if there is a delay in the audio.

Adjust the audio offset with the buttons.

Alternatively, click on the audio alignment value (default "Audio Aligned") to input a figure for either the offset value or the start time of the audio file.

Processing Raw Data

Raw data will attempt to be processed without any preparation necessary, however should you encounter problems then follow the recommendations below.

Missing audio information

If there is no audio data in the text file, the first audio file loaded will be used starting at the beginning of the data
